23M Considering Finasteride/Minoxidil for Receding Hairline Since High School

M(23) I provided some photos of my giant forehead…

Kinda self-conscious about it, it used to not always be this receded but I feel like around junior year of HS maybe?

It doesn’t seem like its getting worse per-say, but Im wondering if Finasteride or Minoxidil or anything else would help bring some of my hairline back if i start now than later??

also if it wont do what i really want, just thickening that arrow part of my widows peak would also help my decision too!

Any advice would be appreciated, and info i should know before going in; thanks

depends on what you want to achieve. and finasteride is a drug, so you should see a doctor and get if possible a hormone test + bloodwork done. but in general finasteride stops and minoxidil regrows. keep in mind hairline is hard to grow from what I had heard so keep expectations very low for a monotherapy of finasteride. minoxidil+finasteride may benefit to bring hairline back but still be realistic, hairline is hardest to get a regrowth at to my knowledge. if you are balding, you need a 5ARI under the guidance of a doctor though. minoxidil alone would be a temporary solution to a permanent problem as a monotherapy in the context of treatment of AGA.

I assume you have aggressive AGA and not where you maintain your existing hairline for say 15-20 years, by the way. Non-aggressive hair loss patients typically don’t have to use finasteride after a hair transplant and it is only optional, that is why I say that.
