Background: I go to a dermatologist semi-regularly due acne problems. While I was at an appointment ~4 months ago, I brought up how I felt my hairline was starting to pull back in the corners (I’m only 22). My derm put gloves on and everything and started searching through my hair and said “I see what you’re talking about!” and put me on oral 1.25mg min and 1mg fin a day.
My dad is bald and my mom’s dad is semi-bald, so I figured It was due to happen for me. However, I’m just now learning that a “mature hairline” is a thing and I’m only really norwood 1.5 and never had bad shedding. I kind of feel like my dermatologist was too agreeable and didn’t inform me at all!
Questions:
-
I’ve been on both min and fin for 3 months now, are there any side effects with stopping completely?
-
Should I stay on them just to be safe or are there long term side effects I should be worry about?
-
Finally, I know not relevant to this sub but I’m on Accutane and was thinking of staying on them to prevent Accutane hair loss. Is this logical or will they not help?
Thank you!
