22M, Hair Loss Worsening Despite Microneedling and Supplements, Considering Minox/Fin

I’m in my early 20s, hair loss started around three years ago and has gone a lot worse over the past year.At first, I had a vitamin D deficiency so I addressed that but it’s still shedding. I am taking multiple vitamins now like iron, zinc magnesium etcc and just bought a micro needle pen to start micro needling. I will eventually get a transplant but heard that it is not a good idea to get it so young and wait until I’m at least 30 but I’m not sure I am able to do that with the rate that my hair is shedding/thinning. I was always against using minox/fin due to the scary stories I have heard and the fact that you have to take it for life, but I’m seriously considering it at this point given that my hair is on my mind 24/7 now. I seriously don’t know what to do. I really just want my hair back and can’t get this shit off my mind.

Starting min and fin can be effective, with min acting like a fertilizer for hair growth and fin working as a weed killer by reducing DHT. If you’re worried about side effects, topical fin might be an option since it usually has fewer systemic effects. It’s not too early to start these treatments if your hair loss is progressing. Microneedling can also help enhance the effects of min. Check out The Beginner’s Guide for more on beginning treatments. Keep an eye on your progress over the next year, and you may find it helpful to document with photos.
