2 Years on Fin + Min, No Improvement, Hair Worse Than Before

I’m 24 now and have been on Minoxidil 5% and Finasteride (1.25mg daily) for the past 2 years. I started treatment as soon as I noticed hair loss at 22. I even consulted a dermatologist right away to confirm and was told to start Fin + Min immediately.

Despite being diligent with my treatment, there’s been no improvement at all. In fact, my hair has gotten worse. The front density is almost gone, and I can now see bald spots. It’s incredibly frustrating because I started treatment so early when my hair loss wasn’t even that noticeable.

I’m at a point where I have to actively cover up my bald spots, and it’s affecting me mentally. Even my dermatologist couldn’t initially tell I was losing hair, which makes this even harder to accept.

Has anyone else experienced this? Should I consider other options like Dutasteride, PRP, microneedling

Fin and min are often more effective for the crown than the hairline. They’re not miracle treatments for everybody but the luckiest. They might just be slowing loss down rather than stopping it. I would add microneedling at a minimum. You could consider mesotheraputic dutasteride and combine with your oral fin. Nobody wants to hear this, but assuming you’re a guy, buzzing your hair short is worth considering. You will have a stronger sense of control, and it makes treatment a bit easier.
