Son 18.5 showing aggressive signs of hairline recession and loss of density over the past 12 months. Seems to be happening quickly. Would you consider finasteride. Trying to balance mental/emotional aspect of such early hair loss with physical side effect concerns of meds. Have him on saw palmetto supplements, vitamins and red light LLLT for 8 weeks, but feels like that is no doing nothing. He has been shaving regularly for 2 years, so seems to be fully through puberty development.
Saw palmetto and LLLT aren’t very effective for AGA. Fin can be a good option for slowing down loss as it tackles DHT, the hormone responsible for hair loss.
