17yo, pretty bad condition. Advices please!

Hey! I’m a teenager who has been facing hairloss for a while. My forehead was quiet big since childhood
Started losing hair at my 14s.

I’m using minoxidil 1ml a day, 1mm derma roller

My routine is like, minoxidil for 3days, then 1 day derma roller no minoxidil.
This is the cycle I’m following

I dont wanna use anymore products
Wanna stick with what im using rn

Please drop your advises!

That’s tough at those ages, sorry to hear that. If you have androgenic alopecia, you’re going to need a DHT blocker. Read the beginner’s guide. You can use a combination topical treatment with Minoxidil.

Glad you replied, thank you!
Well actually I’m kinda new to this so the words are going above my head.

By AGA, I think you are trying to ask if my hairloss is a genetic issue or not.
Well, yes it is. My father and grandfather has lost their hairlines although they haven’t gone completely bald. My grandpa passed a few years ago and he lived more than a hundred years (im asian). Yet, he had enough hair but his forehead became too “M shaped” as you mentioned in your experience.
My father’s current hairlines like that as well.

Its been 2 months I’ve been using topical minoxidil along with derma roller.
I’m just not getting the confidence for keep using it because It’s getting worse. My looks insecurity is rising day by day :"(

I read the beginners guide that you provided,
I’m convinced that i will not use fin…
But I think I’ll use the keto shampoo

So should I keep applying min, keto shampoo, derma?
Whadya say?

Sorry to bother you again.

You should be on dutastride 1 mg a day when you absolutely know your genitl and reproductive system are completely maturated, maybe after 20 . May be in 18 years old you peaked in sex organs , because dht is the major androgen in final sex category, block the dht inthis period causes hermaphrodidm and a lot of problems, and then you should do multi drugs treatment to hit all of the pathway which is possible effects on androgenic alopecia, scalp biopsy can fht concentration and best dose of drugs can be helpful

No problem, happy to help. Your current routine of min, derma rolling, and adding ketoconazole shampoo is a decent approach. The shedding you’re seeing after two months with Minoxidil is normal, so it’s not a sign it’s not working. Stick with it consistently for at least six months to see results. Using the keto shampoo 2-3 times a week would be adequate. For derma rolling, once a week with gentle pressure is fine. You could use topical dut which is thought to have less systemic involvement due to its molecular weight. Otherwise keep going, and reassess after a few more months.
