I’m 17 and I have bought Finasterid and Minoxidil on my own. I have been using them together consistently for 2 months now and I have had a big shed but aside from that I can see the baby hairs growing and I didn’t have any side effects. Which is great. But on the other hand my skin has been developing some under skin cystic acnes. I have heard that Finasterid only blocks Type 2 DHT and that have caused some people to have more acnes then usual.
I know that Dutasteride inhibits both Type 1 and Type 2 DHT but the side effects are more noticeable. Which may help me with my skin condition. I asked my dermatologist but he stated that they usually use this medicine on women (?) with hair alopecia so he gave me some antibiotics. I was on accutane for 16 months so he doesn’t believe in using it again. I didn’t have any acnes since 6 months except now and neither have I had any cystic acnes before.
I went to a drug store and got it (Dut) anyways but now I’m worried that it may stop my genitals from growing/developing. Did anybody experience this type of acne on Finasteride? Would using Dutasteride twice a week, 0.5mg effect my genitals? Any type of advice is appreciated.
