17 y/o Male Considering Finasteride + Minoxidil for Early Balding - Seeking Advice

Hello everyone, I’ve just turned 17 this September. I suddenly started balding at the age of 14. As of now, I already have a healthy diet w a proper sleep schedule, I workout aswell and care for my skin and body. But the baldness just suddenly hit me when I was 14. And I have hair thinning around the scalp area but not the pattern from the front. Baldness is in my father’s family side so I am almost certain it’s genetics. Now it’s still not super severe. But if you look closely or if my hair is wet, you can see the bald spot and I have seen people fix worse with the finesteride+minoxidil combo. I’ve been visiting multiple dermatologists but they just suggest some vitamins and other stuff which seems irrelevant. I understand I am young and they can’t take any risks but wasting money and time in something completely irrelevant isn’t really gonna help. I don’t have the time or money to test out everything one by one and come to conclusions. Looking at my routine and everything, I don’t think this is due to any deficiency. I have had head full of hair as a kid. It just randomly hit when I turned 14 and rn it isn’t even growing to be worse. The damage from the first time is the only damage. I don’t see hair falling even if I pull on my hair really hard. So I am really unsure what to do. I sincerely apologize if I unknowingly said something stupid but I am just seeking help from individuals experienced or knowledgeable on this matter. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much! I hope all of you a great day and a healthy life and hair ofcourse..

You’re likely dealing with early androgenetic alopecia. Fin can help but usually isn’t recommended at 17 without medical advice due to your body’s development at this age. Consider topical fin as an option, which has fewer side effects. Consistent long-term use is key to seeing results. Check The Beginner’s Guide for more info.
